Hanson Tipton Participates in Investiture Ceremony of United States District Judge Charles E. Atchley, Jr.

On Friday, August 20, 2021, firm member Hanson R. Tipton, who serves as Immediate Past President of the Knoxville Bar Association, was one of the presenters for the formal investiture ceremony of United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Tennessee Charles E. Atchley, Jr. Judge Atchley was nominated last year by the President, confirmed by the Senate, and received his judicial commission on December 22, 2020. Mr. Tipton participated in the ceremony on behalf of the Knoxville Bar Association and presented a judicial robe to Judge Atchley. Speakers at the investiture included Chief United States District Judge Travis R. McDonough, former Senator Lamar Alexander, Knoxville Attorney Wade Davies, and former United States Attorney Doug Overbey.
