A Federal jury took less than two hours to return a verdict in favor of the firm’s client, a local municipality, in a Section 1983 civil rights trial alleging violations of the First Amendment. Firm members Dan R. Pilkington and Emily Taylor represented the defendant municipality. The lawsuit alleged that the City retaliated against the Plaintiffs for their speech and conduct protected by the First Amendment. After a multi-day trial, the jury found that the Plaintiffs’ allegations were unfounded and entered a unanimous decision in favor of the municipality.
